 Our label, BAP!, short for Bwear Action Products, began long ago, when our fearless leader, and Ironman Triathlete, Bill, began selling bike shorts out of his dorm room in college, at Lock Haven, in central Pennsylvania. (A little background on Bill, when Chuck Norris goes to bed, he puts on his Bill Gamber pajamas).
Fast forward twenty years later and 2000 miles west to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where spandex has made way (thank goodness) for our current line of outerwear, softshell jackets, fleece for every shape and size, a complete women’s line of apparel, kids wear, even BAP! for babies. And keeping in true BAP! fashion, we still employ the same seamstresses who were sewing those bike shorts so long ago. All our apparel is proudly made here in the U.S. by people who share our passion for the outdoors.
Our Little Red House is home not just to BAP!. Upstairs from our retail store, lay the offices of Big Agnes and Honey Stinger. The entire building is brimming with outdoor enthusiasts. We are a diverse group of athletes who compete and enjoy a variety of outdoor sports be it 24 hour cycling races, month-long Grand Canyon trips, exploring India or even just hiking up the mountain for fresh tracks. From climbing to kayaking, skiing to snowshoeing, our hallways are lined with the various modes of snow-port be it Telemark, Alpine or Cross Country (even a snowboard here and there). All products are of the caliber that we might use ourselves and from companies that have a vested interest in our community and environment.
We see the outdoors as not only our playground, but our livelihood as well. Without open spaces, not only are we bereft of a place to play, but so are our customers. That is why BAP! is doing our part to keep our community and environment clean. We are Steamboat Springs’ first green company, using Friendly Windpower to run our electricity, recycling EVERYTHING, conserving, reusing, commuting, carpooling and just generally being mindful of how we impact our surroundings.
